In 2022, following the Russian occupation of part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast during the invasion of Ukraine, he collaborated with Russia and was appointed head of the occupation “Military-Civilian Administration of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.” Senior Researcher at the Institute of World Economy (Kyiv).
